Do Daiya products contain coconut?

Yes. However, Daiya products that contain highly refined coconut oil do NOT contain the allergenic protein.

Daiya products that contain coconut butter / coconut cream do have the allergenic component present.

The US Food and Drug Administration no longer considers coconut a major allergen under the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA). Coconut is no longer considered a tree nut and no longer requires allergen labelling. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency also do not consider coconut a major allergen or a “tree nut” for the purposes of food allergen labelling.
